How does the QR verify with no internet?
The QR doesn't point to a server — it contains the record. Name, courses, dates, expiry and a SHA-256 authenticity code are all encoded in the code itself. Any phone camera decodes it and renders a verification page instantly, even with airplane mode on. When there is signal, the same code opens a branded hosted page.
Where is my data stored?
On your machine. CertiCerts is local-first — your training records live in a local database with automatic backups, never on someone else's cloud. That's PIPEDA-friendly and air-gap friendly by design. Exports go to your Documents folder. Cloud sync is opt-in and coming later.
What's the difference between a subscription and Desktop Pro?
Desktop Pro is a one-time $499 CAD perpetual licence for the offline desktop app — buy it once and it's yours, no recurring fee. Subscriptions (Solo, Pro, Compliance) add team seats, white-label, multi-company and, soon, cloud sync and hosted verification. Certificate packs are pay-as-you-go credits that never expire and stack on any plan. Desktop Pro is available today; subscriptions are launching soon.
Will the certificates hold up in a COR audit?

Your workforce data stays on your device
Your employees, training records, certificates and wallet cards are stored on your own computer, not on our servers. The desktop app is offline‑first — it works with no internet and sends us none of your workforce or client data.
What we collect
Account & purchase data (only if you create an account or buy a licence): your name, email, and licence/entitlement status.
Payment data is processed by Stripe Inc. — we never see or store full card numbers.
Basic website analytics (essential only) to keep the site running.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data. We don't access the worker or client records on your device. A certificate's QR carries only the information you chose to put on that certificate.
PIPEDA
We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data by emailing us.

1. Licence
Desktop Pro is a perpetual licence to use the application on your devices per your plan's seat count. Subscriptions (Solo / Pro / Compliance) grant use while the subscription is active. You may not resell or redistribute CertiCerts except under a written white‑label / Compliance agreement.
2. Free trial
CertiCerts ships as a free trial (2 certificates + 2 wallet cards) with the full design tools, so you can evaluate it before buying.
3. Payments & renewals
Prices are in CAD and processed by Stripe. Subscriptions auto‑renew until cancelled. Applicable taxes are added at checkout based on your location.
4. Refunds
Desktop Pro — 14 days or 6 issued, whichever comes first. You may request a full refund of Desktop Pro while both of the following are true: it has been 14 days or fewer since your purchase, and you have issued fewer than 6 certificates and wallet cards combined since purchasing. The refund window closes the moment either limit is reached — the 15th day, or your 6th issued certificate/card — whichever comes first. You can check your eligibility and request a refund any time inside the app (the ★ Pro badge → Request a refund), or email support@certicerts.com.
Subscriptions can be cancelled anytime; the current billing period is not pro‑rated. Certificate Packs are non‑refundable once any credit from the pack has been used.
5. Your responsibility
You are responsible for the accuracy of the training records and certificates you create. CertiCerts is a tool to record and present training — it is not a certifying body and is not a substitute for your legal, safety or regulatory obligations.
6. Warranty & liability
The software is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.
7. Changes
We may update these terms; continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
