How to verify a certificate
- Open the camera on any phone. No app is needed.
- Point it at the QR code on the certificate or wallet card.
- The verification page opens with the worker's name, the course, the training and expiry dates, the current status and the authenticity code.
Expired training never shows as valid. If you have a verification link or code instead of the card, paste it into Verify a certificate.
Why it works with no internet
Most certificate QR codes are only a web address, so they fail in a basement, a tunnel, a remote camp or anywhere the cell signal drops. A CertiCerts QR carries the record inside the code itself, with a SHA-256 authenticity code. The phone reads it and shows the verification page with airplane mode on. When there is signal, the same QR also opens a branded online check.
How it catches a fake
The authenticity code is generated from the certificate's details and a key held only by the issuer's CertiCerts installation. Change the name, the course or the date on a certificate and its code no longer matches. The issuer can confirm any code against their own records.
Live checks and revocation for training providers
On the Compliance plan, an online scan shows the certificate's status right now: valid, expired or revoked. Pull a certificate once and every later scan shows it as revoked, with your reason. Every check appears in your scan history, and you get an email if someone scans a revoked certificate.
For safety managers checking contractors
Gate checks and site orientations go faster when a worker's proof of training is on a card that answers for itself. Scan the wallet card or the card on their phone and you see current status, not a photocopy from three years ago.
Issue certificates people can check
Every training certificate and wallet card you issue in CertiCerts gets a verification QR automatically. Try it free with 2 certificates and 2 wallet cards, then choose Desktop Pro ($499 CAD once), certificate packs, or a team plan. See pricing.
